Abstract - Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a disruptive technology which is redefining the global distribution of resources and power. Today, also public administrations use AI to improve their performance, but not all processes can be managed with the same effectiveness. This work deals with the regulation which Europe and Italy are drafting in order to guide this innovation, focusing on the advantages and critical issues related to its use in public decisions.
